The Assistant Construction QC Manager is responsible for assisting the Construction Quality Control Manager with the overall quality requirements of a project. As an Assistant Construction QC Manager, your job is to inspect a project before, during, and after construction to ensure compliance with all quality specifications. To accomplish this, you develop and maintain a quality control (QC) plan, create documents and forms to track your findings, and supervise most construction work. You also conduct audits on projects and paperwork, evaluate and track noncompliance with project specifications, and perform other tasks to ensure quality control.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the performance of Field Technicians who are testing soils, concrete and asphalt to determine compliance with project specifications.
  • Examine structures to ensure they are in compliance with specifications and point out nonconformances. Keep track of nonconformances and makes sure repairs are performed correctly. Visits sites during construction to make inspections.
  • Coordinates scheduling of inspections and provides communication with construction project management regarding progress and conflicts.
  • Occasionally perform field tests using specialized equipment designed to collect data from the various construction materials, i.e.; nuclear density gauge, coring equipment and other power and hand tools.
  • Review project requirements, identify interdependencies with internal departments/laboratories or external service providers, delegate responsibilities, and ensure that work is completed as needed.
  • Lead and interact with construction site personnel, engineers and state and federal representatives while presenting yourself as a professional representative of the company.
  • Driving and maintaining the appearance and operation of company vehicles to and from job sites.
  • Oversee daily report writing from technicians, reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications, and entering data related to the various job tasks.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Must possess a clean driving record
