Your Role

ESS Laboratory is a division of Thielsch Engineering. We are a full-service analytical laboratory dedicated to providing comprehensive analytical testing services for the identification and assessment of environmental contaminates.


We are looking to hire a Project Coordinator who will support the customer service department as well as assist clients. You will sit in our Cranston, RI office location. This position is full time Monday- Friday and hours will range from 9:00am – 6:00pm. Overtime as needed.


  • Communicates to the operations staff, timely and accurate project information. Provides timely feedback on customer needs, issues, and concerns
  • Keeps the customer informed about sample/job status
  • Calls customer immediately on non-conformance issues and prioritizes their needs within the laboratory
  • Processes customer request and initiates Incident/Corrective Action when necessary
  • Provides timely responses
  • Coordinates subcontracted work
  • Works with Sample Receiving to process shipping request forms to meet on time delivery requirements.
  • Ensures that ESS Laboratory’s pricing reflects all applicable charges including shipping
  • Reviews subcontracting laboratory invoices for proper processing
  • Follows up with Subcontract Laboratory to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner
  • Maintains knowledge of sample container requirements and holding times.
  • In accordance with the Quality Manual, promotes customer/supplier alignment by:
    • Continually improving the relationship between Operations, Customer Service and Sales.
    • Focusing on alignment of external customer needs and internal customer capabilities.
    • Maintaining a strong focus on customer communications.
    • Performs all responsibilities in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with ESS Laboratory safety policy.
    • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment that is following the requirements of ESS Laboratory’s Health & Safety program (and local laws and regulations).
    • Ensures, where appropriate, all workflow is in compliance with ESS Laboratory’s QA manual, regulations, or other specified requirements.
    • Performs all tasks with an uncompromising commitment, and to outstanding service, to overall quality within the lab.
    • Performs other duties as needed or assigned including, but not limited to, clerical duties to support the team.



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Strong typing skills
  • Exceptional attentiveness to detail, with ability to learn and understand technical terms
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively with high volumes, meet short deadlines, and take direction
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
  • Ability to practice discretion and good judgment and maintain confidentiality
