Field Sample Technician

ESS Laboratory is seeking a Field Sampling Technician to perform collecting drinking water samples from local businesses and residential homes. Employee will pick up and drop off of samples to laboratory and will also assist with custodial duties, cleaning up lab area, picking up supplies and running local errands.

The position is based out of Cranston, RI with travel within RI and MA.  This candidate will have a company vehicle for travel. The ideal candidate can work Full time, M-F, 8:00am- 5:00pm. Open to part-time workers.

  • Follow sampling instructions and maintains a safe and healthy work environment 
  • Able to pick up and drop off samples, deliver bottles for sampling  
  • Responsible for visiting local businesses and residentials homes to collect drinking water samples for testing
  • Travels to collects multiple samples per day
  • Works and communicates with personnel
  • Assist with custodial duties such as breaking down boxes, take out trash, running errands, and other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements  

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Standing, climbing stairs, stooping, walking, bending, reaching, pulling and pushing
  • Clarity of vision at both over 20 feet and under 20 inches


  • Attentiveness to detail, with ability to learn, able to take direction
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and energetic
  • Clean driving record
