Residential Inspector

The Residential Inspector conducts in-home quality assurance inspections of subcontracted work for customers of Eversource Energy/ Cape Light Compact. As an Inspector, you will visit residences at the start, during and/or upon completion of work, with follow-up visits as needed to ensure customer satisfaction. This position is full time, Monday - Friday, and will work in our Hyannis, MA area.


Required Education and Experience:

  • At least three years of building construction/remodeling experience, including knowledge of carpentry, electrical or mechanical systems.
  • Experience interacting with customers and contractors.
  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to tactfully avoid conflict and build mutual respect.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • A commitment to and enthusiasm for energy efficiency.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and the ability to travel daily to customers’ homes.
  • Able to pass criminal background and drug screening tests.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience installing insulation and air sealing.
  • Building construction/remodeling supervisory experience.
  • BPI Envelope Professional certification
