  • Plumbing Designer, Fire Protection is involved in the study, design, and construction phase for the firm’s MEP/FP plans and specifications. Projects may include Plumbing systems for office buildings, schools, multi-family, commercial and industrial buildings.
  • This position will manage multiple projects simultaneously with the end product being delivered on-time and within budget up to Creative and industry standards.
  • Frequent communication with clients and with internal cross-functional engineering teams to fully coordinate the engineering work and contribute efforts in expanding MEP/FP service within the firm - activities may include but are not limited to project assessment, pricing, and writing proposals.

  • Delegate design tasks to Junior Staff members.
  • Travel to job sites to evaluate projects in progress 

Physical Demands

  • Light/Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Ability of climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl frequently while on the work site
  • Climb up and down ladder
  • While working in the office the worker will sit a majority of the time and walk occasionally


Work Environment

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside
  • Worker may be subject to loud noises and hot and cold temperatures while on a work site
  • May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces
  • Will climb ladders on an occasional basis
  • While working in the office the worker will operate in a professional office environment and routinely use standard office equipment


  • 10%-50% of the time required to travel to and from job sites


  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a P.E. license is preferred. E.I.T. candidates will be considered.
  • Five or more years of experience as an HVAC Engineer within a consulting engineering environment.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and other applicable standards is preferable.
  • Demonstrated success as a Project Manager with an A&E firm working with Mechanical and Electrical engineers and participating on multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience with AutoCad is required and Revit is a plus. Experience with other CAD programs will be considered in lieu of AutoCad.
  • Outstanding verbal and writing skills to be used for client interaction and participation on various topics.
  • Strong capacity to work independently and also with multidisciplinary teams.
