Responsibilities

As a CTS Engineering Technician, you will perform light to moderate labor-intensive field duties and testing under the direction of other engineers or staff professionals with minimal analysis of data required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site observation and monitoring, pre and post construction surveys, field and laboratory testing and analysis, field sampling of potentially hazardous soil, and subsurface investigations.
  • Write drafts of field reports, inspection/engineering reports, and technical specifications.
  • Data gathering in the field of various engineering support programs, such as geophysical surveying, subsurface investigations, air & water sampling, load testing, structural monitoring, electrical resistivity, mass concrete temperature monitoring, and deep foundation inspections.
  • Occasionally perform field testing of soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt to determine compliance with project specifications. Assist the laboratory with index testing when there are high volumes of samples in-house.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred and/or one (1) year experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean record, driving company vehicle(s) is/are required
  • Ability to acquire certifications from NCEES, OSHA, NICET, NETTCP, ICC and ACI

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Degree or skills acquired from a College or Technical school

Our Construction Testing Services (CTS) department provides on-site field inspection and geotechnical and construction materials laboratory services to assure the proper selection, quality, and workmanship of the construction materials being used and the services provided comply with the project specifications.
